Apple’s New Magic TrackPad

Apple continues with the Smart phones touchscreen method by showing off its new TrackPad product which is compatible with Mac computers, and you can definitely toss aside your old mouse. The design is a simplistic one, not telling much at first sight, but hiding a lot of useful applications and great usability functions. It needs two AA batteries, which will keep in functioning for around two months. The battery casing is at the top (resembles a tube), which gives the TrackPad a slightly angled position. It is a combination of metal top and plastic bottom, and it resembles the Apple Bluetooth keyboard in that sense. If you are familiar with Apple products, this little gadget is not a mind blower, but it will win you over with its applications and the simple way it functions.
Its simplistic appearance is shown through the fact that there are no buttons attached whatsoever. You will be able to make right or left mouse clicks because the device has two small feet attached to it. Using your Bluetooth, you can connect it to your Mac computer. System requirements for it to work properly are OSX 10.6.4, and of course, software updates which will make the magic trackpad function properly. What you can perform: scroll down, open and close, zoom in and out, rotate, all the functions that a classical mouse is able to deliver.
You can also change applications, drag and drop items, drag windows and open Expose with four fingers swiping over the surface of the pad. Those of you owning the MacBook Pro trackpad will not find the Magic Trackpad an innovation, considering its £59 price tag as well.
However, the pad has an excellent response time and its smooth glass surface makes it very comfortable to use it. You need to keep in mind that it can only be used on smooth and level surfaces. Overall, it is a very nice and handy little device, which is not too obvious, so for those of you who love minimalist designs, this is a must-have.
